Through hands-on sessions, students build the confidence to beat test anxiety, sharpen their critical thinking, and leave with practical communication tools they’ll use for years.

John Cochener, Academy Tutors
John has more than 20 years of experience as a private tutor and has helped many students get into top universities and earn merit scholarships. He founded Academy Tutors in Las Vegas in 2014 and has run ACT boot camps with local charities and charter schools for students who might not otherwise get private tutoring.

Is it really free? +
Yes. There is no cost to enroll or attend. The checkout page offers an optional donation to THIRD Street; it’s never required.
Which grades can sign up? +
The program is open to all high school students. It’s a strong fit for students planning to take the ACT this year or next. No prior test prep or theater experience is needed.
Does my student need to attend all six sessions? +
Each week builds on the last, so we recommend attending all six session to get the most out of the program.
Can we switch between the afternoon and evening session? +
Students enroll in one time slot and keep it for all six weeks, which keeps each group at 25. If something changes, email inquire@thirdstreet.vegas.
Where do we park and drop off? +
THIRD Street is at 814 S. 3rd Street in the Las Vegas Arts District. There is parking under the building accessed via the alley that runs between GASS and HOOVER.
Does this register my student for the actual ACT? +
No. This is a prep program. Students register for an official ACT test date separately through ACT.org.

THIRD Street Arts & Media Incubator is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit turning a former eight-screen cinema in the Arts District into a permanent home for creative work. Academy Tutors is a Las Vegas tutoring company that has prepared college-bound students since 2014. Visit Academy Tutors.
